Alfajiri Represents Kenya at the Global Homeboy Network in Los Angeles

This past week, Alfajiri Street Kids Art had the incredible honor of attending the Global Homeboy Network (GHN) gathering in Los Angeles, joining many organizations from across America and around the globe. It was a powerful reminder that we are part of a global movement — one rooted in compassion, tenderness, and kinship.

GHN is a community built on the belief that everyone deserves a second chance. Through workforce development, supportive programming, and social enterprise, its members are creating safe, transformative spaces for marginalized individuals across the globe. These values deeply align with our mission at Alfajiri: to build sanctuary, community, and opportunity for street-connected youth in Nairobi through art, mentorship, and outreach.

At the conference, we had the privilege of presenting Alfajiri’s journey and sharing stories of the resilience and talent of the youth we serve. The reception was warm and energizing — a true celebration of global solidarity and shared purpose.

We return home to Kenya inspired, challenged, and full of new ideas to expand the reach and impact of our programs. More than anything, we are filled with hope. The connections made in Los Angeles affirmed that our work is part of something much larger — a worldwide network of people committed to healing and transformation.

We extend our deepest thanks to all of our supporters who made this journey possible. Your belief in Alfajiri continues to open doors — not just for us, but for the young people whose lives are being reshaped through love, art, and opportunity.

Together, we are widening the circle.
