MWAS
Mwas is a Kenyan painter from Nakuru whose work spans portraits, relationships, nature, and design. After completing secondary school, he moved to Nairobi in search of opportunity but eventually faced life on the streets. A self-taught artist from a young age, Mwas found in drawing both refuge and purpose. Through Alfajiri, he trained in art and sign language at the International Youth Fellowship, developing his skills alongside fellow artists in the Pangani workshop. His dedication has led to exhibitions at the Nairobi National Museum, as well as in France and the United States.

Mwas graduating in July 2025 from an Alfajiri-sponsored course at the International Youth Fellowship.
