Nourishing & Empowering Communities

Nutrition and Positive Parenting

In June 2025, 50+ mothers and caregivers in Mathare graduated from our nutrition and positive parenting program. Through hands-on sessions, they learned healthy eating, meal planning, food prep, and household nutrition — including making yoghurt and balanced meals from locally available ingredients.

Graduates report real change: better family health, improved wellbeing, and weight loss through applied learning.

“I improved my health and lost weight by applying the healthy eating practices I learned,” shared one mother.

Nutrition Programs

Child Program Against Hunger

During school breaks, we serve hot, nutritious meals to 300+ children per feeding cycle. These meals fight hunger, support wellbeing, and keep vulnerable children safe from street risks when schools are closed.

 School hot lunch program

There is a huge influx of children to the street due to hunger in Kenya   A strategy we have developed is to provide hot meals in schools to keep students in class.

Each term, we provide school meals to 600 children across two schools in Mathare and Isiolo. Consistent meals drive better attendance, focus, and retention — because learning is not possible on an empty stomach.
